八是“数之大者”,传统文化讲究成双成对,道家玄学中讲:“太极生两仪,两仪生四相,四相生八卦,八卦生万事万物古代天子享受用“八佾”,祭祀用“八簋”,用车需“八鸾”,驭臣用“八柄”统率万民用“八统”,治理国家用“八政”等。所以,八在数字中的地位是非常尊崇的。
